About TED?
TED stands for Technology, Entertainment, Design — three broad areas that collectively shape our world. A TED conference is broader concept, showcasing important research and ideas from all disciplines and exploring how they connect. TED is a nonprofitable organisation devoted to Ideas Worth Spreading. The first Ted conference was organised in California and it was spread over four days. Since then, TED has grown to support its mission with multiple initiatives. The two annual TED Conferences invite the world's leading thinkers and doers to speak for a maximum of 18 minutes . Many of these talks are then made available, free, on their official website : TED.com The format is fast-paced including 50+ talks over the course of three days to a week, in addition to a couple of interviews, debates, workshops, activities, interactive exhibits, evening events and parties. The program is designed for attendees and speakers from an array of fields to connect, cross-fertilize and draw inspiration from unlikely places. This is the magic of TED.
About TEDx ?
TEDx started off as grassroots initiative, which was created in the spirit of TED’s overall mission to research and discover “ideas worth spreading.” TEDx aims at bringing spirit of TED to local communities around the globe through its events. TEDx events are organized by passionate individuals who seek to uncover new ideas and wish to share the latest research in their local areas that spark conversations in their communities. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. TEDx events include live speakers and recorded TED Talks, and are organized independently under a free license granted by TED. These events are not controlled by TED, but the event organisers agree to abide by their format, and are offered guidelines for curation, speaker coaching, event organizing and more. They learn from us and from each other. More than 3000 events are now held annually.

TEDxFMMC is a stage which brings together curious, creative, and progressive thinkers from Father Muller Medical College to have a dive deep into the depths of our theme and explore the nooks and corners of the happenings UNDER THE SURFACE. Bringing together a dynamic group of speakers and energy packed performers from diverse backgrounds and experiences who aim to impart inspiration and intellectual acceleration to young minds, enabling them to rekindle the curiosity in them and open up a world of imagination by taking these students on a thought provoking journey.
